The ECL Authentication ProjectECLAP
is a non-profit organization based in Switzerland. It is made up of a
group of stakeholders from different sectors, regions,
backgrounds and interests who share a recognition of the positive
impact that Ethical Certification and Labelling (ECL)1 can have. The concept of an ECL Space
- an unique, global, multi-stakeholder forum in which global governance
of certification and labelling for sustainable development can proceed
- was born at a meeting which brought together several stakeholders in
Geneva in June 2003. The establishment and maintenance of the
ECL Space is overseen by ECLAP, which is itself governed by a
geographically and thematically diverse Steering Group. Day-to-day duties are carried out by the secretariat. Other elements of the ECL Space include the ECL WebMachine, the ECL Gazette and other specific projects. Please refer to the structure diagram for a visual picture of the ECL Space components. You
